HABANERO BACON DOUGHNUT GRILLED CHEESE POP-UP - NYC
I went to try this expecting it to be greasy and glutenous but I was wrong. It had a great balance of savory and sweet flavors. Just enough cheese for it to ooze down the edges of the doughnut. The doughnut tasted like a simple glazed doughnut with pieces of candied habanero for a nice crunch. It was served hanging on a hook with a bowl of tomato soup underneath to catch the drippings. The tomato soup was creamy and great for dipping!
Although I wished I could taste the bacon more, I loved this and would have it again. You can get it Friday-Sunday, only through March, at Clinton Hall (90 Washington St, New York).
